Yelp Launches ‘Deck the Halls with Yelp’ Holiday Winterizing Fund in Texas | Bark

Yelp is launching “Deck the Halls with Yelp,” a vacation winterizing fund to help area small businesses cover the costs of improvement projects needed to prepare for the winter season. From today until December 17, Yelp users across Texas can nominate their favorite local businesses in Austin or San Antonio to receive funding for extreme weather preparedness. Yelp will be awarding $ 10,000 each to 10 beloved local businesses, as part of the $ 100,000 fund. *

With the ability to connect millions of users with highly rated and trusted home and local service professionals, Yelp data from last winter reflected the growing demand for service professionals in Texas. Statewide, consumer interest in February and March of this year increased in categories such as: chimney sweeps (+ 64%), household services (+ 30%), generator installation and repair (+ 30%), installation and repair of water heaters (+ 16%) and plumbing (+ 10%).

“This year, to meet that demand, we’re helping small businesses winterize their physical locations to avoid potential weather setbacks,” says Emily Washcovick, Small Business Expert at Yelp. “The Yelp Holiday Winterizing Fund is one way we hope to give a helping hand to local businesses vital to our communities after this year’s extreme weather conditions and prepare for the season ahead. “

To celebrate the campaign and help Texans get into the holiday spirit, Yelp has partnered with local small businesses Enchantment Event Decor and Revival Coffee to create a party space where residents can enjoy one of the best moments of the season: the decorations! Along with the line of quirky lights, playful string lights, garlands, and trees, Yelp also installed an eye-catching vacation-inspired photo moment for customers to enjoy.

“We’re thrilled that Yelp has helped us prepare Revival Coffee for the holidays while creating a space for people to support small businesses in our community,” said Gabriela Bucio, owner of Revival Coffee. “Thanks to the talented team at Enchantment Event Decor, we’ve created a whimsical winter wonderland to help guests of all ages immerse themselves in the holiday spirit. Make sure to stop by and name your favorite businesses so the local places we love are here for years to come! “
