Fairview Heights, IL – Toby E. Reaka, Sr., 45, of Fairview Heights, IL, born April 1, 1976 in Belleville, IL, died February 3, 2022 at Memorial Hospital, Shiloh, IL.
Toby graduated from Princeton High School in Princeton, IL in 1995 and was a member of the football team. He owned and operated a lawn care and landscaping business. A country boy at heart, Toby has worked on many types of farms over the years. From horses to pigs, he took care of them all. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and an enthusiastic but largely unsuccessful participant in a family fantasy football league. He enjoyed spending time around a bonfire with his loved ones. Family and friends were the passion of his life. Toby had a large family and a large circle of friends, all of whom benefited from his most generous and loving spirit.
He was predeceased by his brothers-in-law, James Mays and Byron Pore.
Toby is survived by the love of his life, his wife Jennifer M., née Grogan, Reaka, whom he married on March 11, 2000. He is also survived by his children, Taylor Reaka and Ty Reaka, both of Fairview Heights, IL, and Army Specialist Toby Reaka, Jr., of Fort Hood, TX; his grandchildren, Eliana and Carson; his parents, Teddy (Sherry) Reaka, Sr., and Peggy (Cletus) Hilmes, all of Belleville, IL; his brother, Teddy (Jennifer) Reaka, Jr., of Breese, IL; his sister, Tabitha Mays of Belleville, IL; her bonus daughter, Michelle Martinez; his half-brothers, Scott (Elena) Hilmes and Kevin (Lucy) Hilmes; his half-sister, Lisa (Charles) Weekly; his in-laws, Jim and Donna Grogan of Swansea, IL; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Danny Grogan and Claire (Byron) Grogan, both of Swansea, IL; and his cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins ​​and friends.
