‘This is how we pay our bills’ Veteran-run lawn care business owner says trailer, equipment stolen by suspected thieves

Pasadena, TX – A veteran-owned and operated lawn care business said its trailer and equipment were stolen this week.

“This is how we pay our bills,” said Chad Milner, owner of Lawn Vets. “This is how we take care of our families.”

Milner said the trailer, which was parked at a Pasadena storage facility, was missing when he arrived Thursday morning.

“You just feel defeated,” Milner said. “You feel angry. We’re just trying to work, you know, make a living and somebody comes along and takes everything you have within minutes, it’s just a terrible feeling.

He said his landscaping and lawn business employs veterans and he is a veteran too.

Milner said the trailer had a lock and was dropped off at the parking lot Wednesday night.

“You must have a PIN to enter the facility,” said Milner, who filed a complaint with police. “It’s a door all around and then there are cameras everywhere.”

Pasadena police said they reviewed security footage. Police have shared two photos of the suspect vehicle, which they believe is a GMC Yukon.

Lt. James Holt said the suspect vehicle entered the property Wednesday night through a gate after another vehicle exited.

According to police, this Yukon was then seen pulling out with the victim’s trailer and equipment towed behind.

“Without that, we literally have nothing,” Milner said.

So far, Holt said police have not identified any suspects in the robbery case.

KPRC 2 has left contact details at the storage facility for comment, but we have yet to receive a response.

Milner said his belongings were stolen from another location in 2019.
