Smart Glass at Phoenix Sky Harbor

View has installed its smart glass technology in the new eighth concourse of Terminal 4 at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

The glass uses artificial intelligence to automatically adjust in response to the sun, maximizing access to daylight and exterior views while blocking heat and glare to optimize passenger comfort and reduce fuel consumption. lighting and HVAC energy up to 20%.

“We designed the Terminal 4 expansion to improve the travel experience and reduce the airport’s environmental impact,” said Chad Makovsky, PHX Aviation Services Director for PHX.

“View’s innovative technology directly supports both of these goals by improving passenger comfort while reducing energy demand.”

View notes that in a study of natural light and the airport experience, passengers who boarded at the gates with View Smart Glass were 68% more likely to report a higher satisfaction rating and rated the airport as 33% more modern, efficient, bright and comfortable. . A similar daylight and views study found that door seats with View Smart Glass were 15 degrees cooler than those with traditional windows, increasing passenger comfort levels and encouraging them to spend more time and money in airport restaurants, bars and shops.

WFS will operate a cargo terminal at Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore

Global air cargo logistics provider, Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), has secured a 15-year license to operate its first cargo handling operation in India at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (BLR).

Following the agreement with Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), from May 2023, WFS will be responsible for the development, operation, management and maintenance of one of the cargo terminals in the India’s third largest gateway for international import and export cargo. .

WFS will also operate and invest in the expansion of the dedicated cold chain facility at Bengaluru Kempegowda in collaboration with BIAL, initially doubling its capacity to 80,000 tonnes per year before moving to a throughput capacity of over 150,000 tonnes. per year, after the completion of phase 2.
