Klein portable power station | 1500 watt inverter KTB1000

Klein Jump kicks off his power play on the jobsite with a 1,500-watt portable power plant

As technology on the jobsite continues to develop, “dirty” power from a generator isn’t a great way to keep your devices charged. The Klein Portable Power Plant offers a clean power solution with the option of harnessing the sun’s light energy as a bonus.

Klein KTB1000 portable power station | The big deal

This is the one we didn’t see coming. The fact that Klein has a higher capacity power supply is a big deal for the brand. Many battery inverters in the same category come from names that don’t have a reputation for standing up for their products like Klein does.

As for the unit itself, it stores 983 watt-hours of pure sine wave energy. It is capable of producing up to 1500 watts continuously with 3000 watts of surge. With direct charging, you can charge the unit and power devices at the same time. There is also an impressive range of outlet options:

  • 4x120V
  • 3 x USB-A
  • 3 x USB-C
  • 1x12V

Additional features

  • Digital lcd display
  • 2.5 hour recharge time to 80% (100% slower charge to protect battery life)
  • MPPT integrated into the unit (monitoring of the maximum power point)
  • Battery rated at 500 recharge cycles
  • Storage integrated into the stopper
  • Washable and reusable filter
  • Weighs 43 pounds

Klein solar panels

Not only is Klein’s portable power plant ready for solar power, but Klein also has solar panels available so you don’t have to wonder if the ones you’re looking at have the right connection. Each foldable panel is rated for 60 watts and you can connect two to charge them.

If you use panels from other brands, the power plant can handle up to 400 watts of solar energy.

Keep in mind that solar panels rarely reach their maximum rating. While plugging them in can help extend the unit’s runtime, the panels will have a hard time keeping up if you’re charging multiple devices or using power tools.
