HVAC companies work to help beat the heat amid supply shortages
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Shortages of supplies and employees could create backlogs for local HVAC companies.
“For today it’s been pretty busy,” said Eric Franco, service technician for Air Services Heating and Air Conditioning / All Professional Plumbing Services. “My first two calls were frozen coils, which we see a lot in the summer.”
It’s busy every summer for HVAC companies, but a lack of supplies makes it more difficult.
“They tell us the product shortage is not just due to the microchips entering high efficiency systems and ovens,” said Rich Callahan, also of Air Services. “But also a shortage of resin for the evaporator coil trays.”
Callahan stocked up on coins as best he could and said they’ve been keeping pace so far.
“But even from next week on, I know I’m trying to find material and order it and not have to reschedule people,” Callahan said. “We can and can see a great shortage of equipment where we’re going to have to put people on hold.”
For now, these HVAC workers are hoping for the best and keeping busy so we can stay cool.
We love it, ”said Eric Franco, service technician at Air Services. “It’s hot outside. But that’s what we’re here for.
Air Services tells us that it bought a quarter-million-dollar inventory in the hopes that things will go as smoothly as possible.
