McCreadie started in the business right out of high school and has worked in the HVAC field for twenty-two years. Five years ago, his passion for learning the trade and sharing his knowledge led him to create a Facebook blog on CVC. Now that effort has grown into a blog, podcast, website, app and Youtube channel called “HVAC Know It All” that goes into great detail on simple and complex HVAC issues.
In an industry that relies on bringing young people into the trade for training and education, McCreadie knows that technology is always changing and that tradespeople need to follow new or innovative ways of doing things. “With everything I do online, I try to make trading attractive to the younger generation,” said McCreadie, noting that the data and insights have made specialist trading knowledge more widely available.
For McCreadie, the idea of working on new equipment or systems is what excites him the most. “If I get a call for service in a building I’ve never been to before, it’s like Christmas Day,” he says. “It’s not just air conditioning.
