A difference of one digit on the bank account is problematic

The following list includes recent reports from the Midland County Sheriff’s Office and the Midland Police Department. Compiled by journalist Tereasa Nims.

11.24pm – Deputies were dispatched to a location in Greendale Township with reference to a traffic accident. Deputies contacted the 56-year-old driver who was transported to MMMC by EMS with minor injuries. The man received a citation. A report is sent to the prosecutor.

8:02 p.m. – Deputies were dispatched to a Homer Township facility for a suicidal woman. The 41-year-old woman from Homer Township was taken to hospital with a mental query without incident.


12:53 a.m. – Deputies were dispatched to Mills Township to assist Michigan State Police in reporting an assault. MPs attended while the MSP carried out its investigation. No further assistance was required from the sheriff’s office.

3:43 p.m. – Deputies responded to a Warren Township residence regarding the death of an 81-year-old man. The man was found deceased by his family, with no signs of foul play. The man had serious health issues and appeared to have died of natural causes.

12:15 p.m. – Deputy dispatched to Homer Township location regarding disabled vehicle. The deputy helped push the vehicle to the shoulder of the road. The driver was working with her insurance company on a tow truck.

3:14 a.m. – Deputies carried out a traffic stop at a location in Midland City. MPs spoke to the 59-year-old driver who was later arrested. The man was taken to the Midland County Jail. A report is sent to the prosecutor.

Saturday July 16

11:40 p.m. – Deputies are dispatched to a residence in Edenville Township for a possible disorderly woman. The deputies spoke with the distraught woman and calmed her down. The woman agreed to stay at her residence for the night.

10:45 p.m. – Police responded to the 4500 block of N. Saginaw Road for a felony assault.

9.59pm – Police were called to Dublin’s 6200 block to a verbal domestic dispute.

9:44 p.m. – Deputies were dispatched to a township in Mt. Haley for a suspicious situation. An anonymous caller indicated that there was an open garage door at a residence. Upon arrival, deputies contacted a 37-year-old woman from Mt. Haley Township who was cleared to be at the residence.

8:47 p.m. — A deputy answered questions about the personal protection order and civil court process for a 51-year-old Coleman woman.

7:57 p.m. – A deputy was dispatched to a residence in Edenville Township to check on the welfare of a 57-year-old man at the request of his wife who was out of town. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with the man working outside. He indicated that everything was fine.

4:51 p.m. – A 25-year-old woman came to the sheriff’s office because she had questions about unwanted contact with a former co-worker.

2:49 p.m. – A 63-year-old woman notified the sheriff’s office that she was bitten by a stray cat in Homer Township. The cat was not captured. The woman was treated by the Midland ER with antibiotics and a rabies vaccine.

2:19 p.m. – A deputy spoke with a 33-year-old woman from Lee Township who had questions about repossessing a vehicle she sold to someone.

10:08 a.m. – Police responded to East Buttles and Mill Streets for a property damage accident.

9.29am – Deputies spoke to a 26-year-old woman who said $50 was withdrawn from her bank account by cheque. The woman said she had no checks. Deputies spoke to the 43-year-old man whose name appeared on the cheque. The man’s account is one digit from the caller’s account. Both parties were advised to contact the bank to correct the clerical error.

2:41 a.m. – Deputies were dispatched to a residence in Homer Township regarding a 34-year-old woman from Homer Township who threatened to harm herself. Before the deputies arrived, the woman left the residence and voluntarily admitted herself to the hospital. Deputies cleared the scene without incident.

2:48 a.m. – A deputy was dispatched to a location in Hope Township regarding loose cows on the roadway. It was determined that the cows escaped through a broken fence. The owner arrived on the scene and the cows were confined.ma

12:40 a.m. – Deputies were dispatched to a business in Mount HaleyTownship for a possible disorderly man. The caller left before the deputies arrived and indicated that she no longer needed to speak with the deputies.

12:22 a.m. – Deputies are dispatched to the Jerome township residence for a possible overdose. Deputies contacted a 31-year-old Jerome Township man who allegedly overdosed. The man was conscious and alert. EMS provided medical treatment. The man refused to be taken to hospital.

friday july 15

10:59 p.m. – Deputies were dispatched to a residence in Warren Township regarding an argument between a 40-year-old woman and her male friend. No assault took place and the man left the scene before deputies arrived on the scene.

10.16pm – Police were called to the Clay Street and Patrick Road area to a complaint about fireworks.

10:02 p.m. – A 25-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding County Clare warrant after a traffic stop in Mount Haley Township. The man was transported and handed over to County Clare.

9:05 p.m. – A deputy contacts a 45-year-old man from Edenville Township who reports that an unknown woman has come to his residence to serve civil status documents on a subject who no longer resides there. The complainant was upset that the server was on his property and was advised to contact the sheriff’s office if she returned.

9:06 p.m. – Deputies helped a slave attempt to contact a 26-year-old man from Mt. Haley Township. The man has not been located.

8:43 p.m. – The police intervened in the area of ​​the S. Waldo and Salzburg roads for a person under the influence.

6:55 PM – Police responded to the 100 block of Golfside Drive for an assault/weapons violation.

5:08 p.m. – Police were called to the 7200 block of Eastman Avenue for a private property accident.

4:47 p.m. – At the request of the City of Midland Police, a deputy notified a 60-year-old man from Hope Township of the death of his mother-in-law.

4:27 p.m. – Deputies conducted a wellness check on a 10-year-old girl at her residence in Mt. Haley Township.

3:44 p.m. – A deputy spoke with a 22-year-old man from Homer Township about an item he lost or misplaced.

3 p.m. – The Midland County Sheriff’s Office Detectives Department received a referral from the Department of Health and Human Services reporting issues between two minors who previously lived in the same home. The parents were informed and the incident was taken care of at home and with scheduled counseling.

2.14pm – An MP responded to a fee-for-service dispute between two companies. They were advised to settle the dispute through small claims.

12.47pm – Deputies have spoken to a 39-year-old woman who sent $1,500 to a stranger in a fraudulent horse transaction. The woman has been informed of the measures to be taken to protect the information and personal data. No known suspects at this time.

11:58 a.m. – A 47-year-old Edenville Township woman was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and heroin after deputies found her with drugs. The woman was transported to the Midland County Jail without incident.

11:57 a.m. – Police were called to an accident on North Saginaw and Perrine Roads.

11:36 p.m. – Police responded to the 6100 block of Jefferson Avenue for a theft complaint.

9:32 a.m. – Deputies responded to a residence in Lee Township for a health check of a 2- and 4-year-old child. A report has been sent to child protective services.

3:46 a.m. – Police were called to the 400 block of Kuipers Drive for a theft complaint.

12:23 a.m. – Deputies were dispatched to a residence in Mount Haley Township regarding a request from a third party to check on the welfare of a 10-year-old girl and her mother. Deputies spoke with the mother and daughter who said they were fine. The deputies were invited inside the residence, and everything went well.
